Apparently it's trading Barzal to the Kings. Well according to Ek anyway. Ek's source is saying that Barzal wants to be a King.

Old news. The Islanders haven’t had a legit top line wing, this century. Ziggy was the last one to play for NY and I think that was 1998.

Biggest need is the find another John Tonelli, maybe pick up P. Laine as a Mike Bossey knock off.

Miro Satan was a legit sniper, although the Isles got him late in his NHL career.

AA playing for Trotz would be like Mike Augello running on the beach in Baywatch. It makes no sense at all. AA is all speed, no D and the hockey IQ of a mongolian yak. AA wouldn't be a good fit on the Isles at all. Not while Trotz is the head coach anyway. He'd be a healthy scratch each game.

We are going to need a #1 center as Barzal is going to the Kings.

I love how Ek just throws out these random things that are based on nothing. Also, it’s even more hysterical that this stupid, fake, rumor coincides with us clearing the cap space necessary to sign Barzal with Boychuck’s salary coming off the cap which makes it even more hysterical. It’s like he wasn’t even aware that even happened (he obviously wasn’t). So much cringe

I love Islander's fans... I guess Lee scoring 125 goals in 300 games the last 4 years is not a "legit" wing. they could of course use a top line wing on the other side.. but what team couldn't use another top Wing? My guess is they are hoping one of their many first line prospects pan out to be what they had hoped when they drafted them..

Sorry , 300 points in almost 500 games is not the type of top line player we are talking about. Especially when he gets top power play unit time as well. We are not complaining about Lee or anyone else who has played on the first line for the Islanders. We are just saying this team has needed a top line scorer for a long time.

40 goals in a season is Elite..fyi. So is 35+ .. There are 31 teams in the NHL. in that last full season only 2 players scored 50. only 18 scored more than 35 goals. Of that 18 players only 10 of them were Wings (others were Centers)

.. Lee still scoring goals on a team that is extremely defensively driven and focussed is a top line winger. The fact that he was scored 125 goals in his last 300 games is Elite.

If Lee was on the Rangers most of you would be talking about him as the best power forward in hockey, but on the Islanders he is not a legit top line wing. .. SMH.

Yes it would be lovely to have one of those top 10 goals scorers in the league on Barzal's Wing, but I would rather have 4 lines with depth that has many guys who score 20+ Brock, Barzal, Lee, Eberle, Beauv, JGP, and even Casey are 20+ goal scorers.
